Certification and validation
ZEvA offers certification in various fields for higher education institutions and other education providers. In particular, ZEvA certifies continuing education programmes offered by higher education institutions, offers assessments for the award of the internationalisation certificate CeQuint and validates parts of a regulated vocational (technical) school education to ease their recognition within specific higher education programmes. The decision is made by the ZEvA Commission.

Services provided by ZEvA
Higher education programmes such as certificate courses can be accredited with the ZEvA quality seal. This can be carried out for individual programmes or a bundle of programmes. The assessment is based on the ESG and certifies equivalence to the respective level of the Higher Education Qualifications Framework.
In addition to an assessment of individual continuing education programmes, a continuing education institution or a cross-university project in higher education can also be institutionally certified. In this case, the institution receives certification that its internal quality management ensures that the programmes developed by the institution meet ZEvA's quality criteria.
The target group for a validation by ZEvA are non-university education providers whose educational offers do not belong to the tertiary education system. Usually, they are part of a regulated vocational training programme or continuing education programmes offered by public or private educational institutions. The aim is to simplify the accreditation of knowledge and skills acquired outside the higher education system for study achievements in a specific study programme, which requires the equivalence of the achievements in terms of content and level.
As a partner in ECA's international CeQuInt project, ZEvA carries out procedures to determine the degree of internationalisation of study programmes and higher education institutions. This involves both the identification of particular excellence and recommendations for improvement and further development. Higher education institutions or study programmes that successfully pass the external assessment receive a European Certificate of Internationalisation.
