DAAD DIES workshop in Cairo on transnational education

In December 2025, the DAAD regional office in Cairo held a DIES workshop (Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies) on the development of transnational education. Representatives from Egyptian universities, the Egyptian government and the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation (NAQAAE) were invited to attend. The managing director of ZEvA, Henning Schäfer, was invited as co-moderator and gave a presentation on the accreditation of international degree programmes.
DIES workshops aim to professionalize management at universities in the Global South and to promote exchange on quality assurance and internationalization.
