Quality audits at Austrian higher education institutions

ZEvA is authorised to conduct quality audits at Universities of Applied Science and public universities in Austria since 2013. The audit includes an in-depth examination of a higher education institution's internal quality assurance system. If the procedure is successful, ZEvA certifies the higher education institution's quality assurance system for seven years. The starting point for the audits are the legal requirements in Austria, which also define the audit areas (in particular §§ 19 and 22 of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Act).

Procedure

The following diagram shows an exemplary procedure. The time schedule may vary from case to case and can be adapted to fit the needs of the higher education institution and the procedure.
