Standing Evaluation Commission (SEK)

The Standing Evaluation Commission consists of 10 persons:

  • The Academic Director of ZEvA as chairman/chairwoman,

  • The chairman/chairwoman or deputy chairman/chairwoman of the Conference of Higher Education Institutions of Lower Saxony (LHK),

  • Four current or former leaders of a higher education institution – two from a university or an equivalent institution, two from a university of applied sciences,

  • One person with national and/or international experience in the field of evaluation,

  • Two student representatives – one from a university or an equivalent institution, one from a university of applied sciences,

  • One representative of the Lower Saxon Ministry of Science and Cultural Affairs

 Functions of the Standing Evaluatuion Commission

The commission governs the evaluation process as a whole. For this purpose, it sets up a long-term work schedule every two years. The SEK receives reports on ongoing evaluation procedures and enacts the recommendations for quality assurance contained in them. Also, the commission decides on procedural rules and standards and monitors compliance with them.
