The Foundation Board

  • The Foundation Board consists of seven experts on quality assurance in higher education. Three members are appointed by the state conference of higher education institutions (LHK) in Lower Saxony; three members are appointed by EIQA on the basis of recommendations by a selection panel; one member is appointed by the State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs. The selection panel is formed by the chairpersons of LHK and EIQA and the Academic Director of ZEvA. The appointed members of the Foundation Board elect a chairperson whose term of office is limited to 5 years.

Currently, the members of the ZEvA Foundation Board are:

Functions of the Foudation Board

The Foundation Board is in charge of all matters that are of essential importance for both evaluation and accreditation. Its main tasks and functions are:

  • Appointment and discharge of the members of the Board of Directors,

  • Receipt of the statement of the Board of Directors, enactment of the budget and formal approval of the action of the Board of Directors,

  • Appointment and discharge of the members of the Standing Evaluation Commission based on recommendations according to Article 11 of the statutes,

  • Appointment and discharge of the members of the Standing Accreditation Commission according to Article 12 of the statutes,

  • Resolutions on amendments to the statutes, resolutions on the suspension of the foundation,

  • Approval of the rules of procedure for the Board of Directors, the Standing Evaluation Commission and the Standing Accreditation Commission.

The Foundation Board adopts its own rules of procedure.
